Mother's day sweater

Last year, for mother's day, I gave my mom sock yarn gradient dyed in her favorite colors.

The yarn is one skein of Zitron Trekking put into 2 50g balls and dyed using this method.

She started to make her socks, and we both quickly realised that one end of the skein would always be in her shoe. She asked for a coordinate to use in a sweater. We found a nice match, and I came up with a design that would work for the yarn - there wasn't anything around that had the right color blocking and gauge.

One year later:

She did a really good job with the knitting and finishing. I am not sure she has gone a day without wearing it since finishing everything, it must be a good sign.  It is also really nice to see her this happy about a new sweater.

  2. And I love the narrow line of red at the collar to tie it all together!
